The Freewheel Clearance Gauge is comprised of 3 individual gauges:
- Normal
- Ultra
- Ultra Size (1st-2nd, 2nd-3rd)
It is used determine the correct spacing for Suntour freewheels:
Normal: Used for any 5-speed or 6-speed freewheel, and 6-speed freewheels which are not Ultra spaced but are normal spaced.
Ultra: All 7-speed freewheels are Ultra spaced. 6-speed freewheels can be Normal or Ultra.
Ultra Size (1st-2nd, 2nd-3rd): Used for the 1st and 2nd positions (high gears) which are spaced about .005" wider to accommodate extreme chain angles.
